Scanning negatives with a camera

Summary

  • a box from Duplo
  • including a holder for the negative from card board
  • a paper to disperse the light (the less visible fibres, the better)
  • bright light from the back
  • camera in macro mode, a place the negative in the holder (in front of the paper)
  • after shooting, cut out and invert colors on a computer

The result! The graininess comes from the (printer) paper I have used. It is far from perfect, but it saves you buying a separate device or service jpg
